Dear Friends,

As I step into retirement after 30 years of directing the University of Toronto Gospel Choir (UTGC), my heart is full of gratitude. What a gift it has been to share this journey of music, worship, and community with each of you.

This choir has always been more than rehearsals and performances. It has been a place of prayer, friendship, laughter, and faith shared through music. None of what we’ve accomplished would have been possible without your faithful support: your prayers, your encouragement, your presence at concerts, and the many ways you’ve stood alongside us. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or joined along the way, you have been part of our story.

What a journey this has been—lifting our voices together, celebrating God’s goodness, and witnessing how music can touch hearts and change lives. For every kind word, and every act of support, I am deeply grateful.

I also want to thank the many singers, musicians, volunteers, leaders, and friends who have poured their time, energy, and love into this choir over the years. It has been an honour to serve with you.

Though this is farewell in my role as director, the joy of these years and the love of this community will remain with me always.

With heartfelt thanks and gratitude,

Lisa
